May a 65 year old drummer comment on this song? First the Carpenters (Karen and David) donated all the buildings for the music department at Long Beach State University in California. Being 65 I was exposed to the sound and production abilities of both Karen and David. I saw them live several times in the 1970's. Of course the work done in studio is repleat with overdubs and sometimes fully orchestrated parts. But you must know this...the Carpenter live production was terrifically produced. You may or may not know, Karen was a wonderful drummer. Many of the studio and live productions include her as the drummer. David, her older brother played ALL of the piano parts. Fender Rhodes and the acoustic piano (Wurlitzer) were played by David. The french horn parts were arranged by David. In fact all the productions may have been noted as someone besides brother and sister but know this. Carpenters were running the show in the studio and on stage. Thanks for including this song. I love Carpenter music. Both for the romanticism and popular songs they produced. I enjoy your voice and critiques you offer up.,

Meatloaf was a musical theatre actor, who originated the character of Eddy in both the theatre and film versions of “Rocky Horror Picture Show”. If you haven’t seen the movie I recommend you do, paying close attention to “Hot Patootie(Bless My Soul) and the speed at which he delivers the lyrics.

I would also add that the album this is off SLØR is fantastic. Also check out her cover versions of Famous Blue Raincoat and Bird on a Wire! Oh and my favourite song of hers "Boxes".

I am no expert but EIVØR is my favourite singer. It is refreshing to see a reaction vid where the person reacting is doing it with expertise for informative reasons rather than simply using someone else's work (the artist) to push their own channel, and they sit there going "wow" or "that's tribal" or "I don't know what to say". This channel very much is not that, ie a person who knows what they are talking about sharing the pleasure of listening to great music and telling me stuff I didn't know. Thanks.

I have to admit the message behind the song and video are a stunning reminder of how cruel humanity can be, but I wasn't able to listen to this for 20 years because I couldn't stand the keening, it honestly drove me batshit crazy, I really couldn't stand that sound but the more i started listening to irish music I can now love and appreciate the beauty behind it, I don't know why i had such an almost primal reaction to that sound, if there is anyone else that had this problem please let me know.
